St Catherine’s is committed to managing visitor access to ensure the utmost health and well-being of the residents in our care. To balance our residents’ quality of life with their safety, we continue to update our visitor restrictions to meet the status of COVID-19.
These restrictions are designed to support our staff to effectively screen visitors on arrival, uphold compliance to density requirements, and ensure appropriate use of PPE and hygiene requirements on site. Please find the latest protocols detailed below.

- A well-fitted face mask Must be worn at all times; a face shield or alternative is not acceptable.
- Social Distancing of at least 1.5 metres is to be maintained within the building
- All visitors Must be screened for a temperature check and completion of visitor declaration.
- Visiting is open to members of family and close associates.
- All visitors are not permitted to spend time in the dining room or communal areas and MUST not visit more than one (1) resident.
- Visits by appointment required:
- Monday – Friday Business Hours 09:00am – 05:00pm
- Saturdays and Public Holidays 10:00am – 02:00pm
- Sunday’s 10:00am - 02:00pm commencing 9th May 2021
- Visits are unlimited in a resident’s room or alternatively visitors outside are unrestricted (maintaining social distancing). Visits in outdoor settings poses lower risk.
- End of life – no time limit
- Family who reside or have visited identified COVID high-risk exposure sites will not be permitted entry.
- Family may be required to wear other PPE (personal protective equipment) as directed by staff and follow staff instructions
- Visitors must perform hand hygiene before entering and after leaving the resident’s room.
- Residents are required to abide community restrictions when leaving the facility.
- Resident social gatherings and home visits will require a family member to complete a Statutory Declaration declaring:
- The names of those in attendance
- No person in attendance have visited an identified COVID high risk exposure area within the past 14 days
- No person in attendance are from an identified COVID high risk exposure area within the past 14 days
- No person in attendance have been in close contact with a confirmed COVID case
- No person in attendance are self isolating
- No person in attendance are or have experienced any respiratory symptoms (cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath, or any other respiratory symptom) within the past 14 days.
- Residents upon returning from identified high risk areas will be tested and isolated pending test results
ENTRY IS NOT PERMITTED:
- If you have any respiratory symptoms (cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath, or any other respiratory symptom).
- If your temperature is above 37.5 degrees
The above restrictions are subject to change at any time at the discretion of the Chief Medical Officer.
