What is permanent care?Permanent residents receive around the clock care and have the opportunity to participate in activities through our lifestyle program, to promote social and mental stimulation. All meals are catered for and laundry and cleaning services provided. Care is tailored to the individuals’ needs and interests.

At St Catherine's we are a purpose built facility conveniently located to Wangaratta’s main street. We have 70 modern and well maintained permanent rooms. Rooms are located on the ground and first floor. When you arrive we have dedicated staff who will assist you settle in.
St Catherine’s is pleased to offer our residents private single rooms with no shared facilities. Each of our residents' rooms are well appointed, providing the following conveniences:
notifications allowing nursing staff to be alerted of movement without invading the residents privacy
We provide the linen and high care equipment requirements, the rest of the furniture is up to you to bring in and decorate your room, so you feel more at home.
Residents have access to 3 central living areas and 6 sitting areas located within the building, where residents are able to relax in private, socialise or participate in activities run by St Catherine’s Lifestyle staff.
St Catherine’s is pleased to offer our residents private single rooms with no shared facilities. Each of our residents' rooms are well appointed, providing the following conveniences:

- Tiled ensuite is well appointed with modern shower, toilet, heat lamp and joinery. The ensuite is fitted with non-slip vinyl flooring and hand rails
- King single floor lying bed with pressure relief mattress and over bed table
- Elsi Smart Floor System under the bedroom carpet

- Eurotronic Nurse Call system that combines healthcare management, nursing documentation and nurse call technology in the one system via a Nurse Tab with interactive touch screen. The system provides bedside and ensuite pendants along with wireless wearable devices that residents can call for assistance by pressing a button on the hand transmitter. The Elsi Smart Flooring is fully integrated into this care solution.

How do I apply for residential permanent care?
Before entering permanent care you must have an approved ACAS assessment. These assessments are free. Your doctor can advise you how to contact your local ACAT. Alternatively, visit the My Aged Care website, or call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422.
