What is permanent care?Permanent residents receive care around the clock and have the opportunity to participate in activities through our lifestyle program, to promote social and mental stimulation. All meals are catered for and laundry and cleaning services provided. Care is tailored to the individuals’ needs and interests.

At St Catherine's we are a purpose built facility conveniently located to Wangaratta’s main street. We have 67 modern and well maintained permanent rooms. Rooms are located on the ground and first floor. When you arrive we have dedicated staff who will assist you settle in.
St Catherine’s is pleased to offer our residents private single rooms with no shared facilities. Each of our residents' rooms are well appointed and have the following:
We provide the linen and high care equipment requirements, the rest of the furniture is up to you to bring in and decorate your room, so you feel more at home.
Residents have access to 3 central living areas and 8 sitting areas located within the building, where residents are able to relax in private, socialise or participate in activities run by St Catherine’s Lifestyle staff.
St Catherine’s is pleased to offer our residents private single rooms with no shared facilities. Each of our residents' rooms are well appointed and have the following:
- Rooms are tastefully carpeted and decorated
- Ensuite with shower and toilet. The ensuite is fitted with non-slip vinyl flooring and hand rails
- Built in wardrobe with a lockable draw for personal and valuable items
- Individual reverse cycle heating and cooling
- Television, telephone and computer points
- Hi-Lo Bed provided with pressure relief mattress
- Nurse call systems to ensure prompt care and attention available 24 hours a day
- Bay window looking out to the beautiful gardens

How do I apply for residential permanent care?
Before entering permanent care you must have an approved ACAS assessment. These assessments are free. Your doctor can advise you how to contact your local ACAT. Alternatively, visit the My Aged Care website, or call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422.
